Missing Link Found - Let's get the ball rolling...
So over the past month or two I’ve been talking to a sports writer in San Jose who used to follow the Sharks back in the day when Link played. He got in touch with me and was asking me about the film and if I knew how to get in contact with him. After a few months of searching he ended up getting a hold of Link and writing a pretty great article on him. The article was featured in the San...

"Missing Link" on Hiatus
The Missing Link is currently on hiatus until further notice. Link has not been available for the last few months and filming has been suspended. We are ready to begin the demo which will be a shorter version outlining the themes of the full film. We will then use this project to bring some attention to the project and hopefully secure some financing. Keep checking back for updates.

NEWS FLASH !
Well, the pre production of the project continues as we’re moving to the next step in the production: finding a producer. To this point I have been doing all the work in trying to lift this film off the ground and get my story onto the screen. I am in search of a producer, someone who can finance or find financing for my film and help me to take this project to the next level. In the...

2010 UPDATE
Well it’s been a long time since I’ve updated the blog, but after various computer based problems the process is back on track! The proposal is done and currently awaiting release. A few minor touch ups may be needed but the majority of the work is done. As for Link… I haven’t spoke to Link directly since late November. We have been playing phone tag the last few weeks as I...

UPDATE 09.11.2009 - Link: Back in Town.
So I talked to Link the other day, he’s back in town and said that Saskatchewan was good and that he had made a few bucks. I’m here still in Fort St. James on the last legs of my job here which wraps up on the first of October. Things are still in the works, still sorting some stuff out. When I get back to Vancouver the production should start taking off and we’ll go from there....

UPDATE 09.01.2009 - "The Legend of Link"
It’s been a long time since I’ve updated what has been going on with the film… So far things are going very well though. I have recently been in contact with great people who will be involved in the film whether on camera being interviewed or behind the scenes. I have not spoken to Link since about early July. He got a job in Saskatchewan working on a pipeline and is unavailable...

UPDATE- 07.02.2009
Things have been pretty crazy lately. Work has been pretty busy and I have been making trips back to my hometown (Hazelton) the last couple weeks on my days off, so I haven’t had a lot of time to work on developping the film. I’m heading off to Vancouver/ Vancouver Island on July 8th and will be there until the 16th for my cousins wedding. I also plan on meeting up with Blake McRitchie...

UPDATE: 05.20.2009- Chat With Link, Doug Wilson,...
I’ve been pretty busy here with work in Fort St. James but managed to call Link today and chat for a bit. He’s doing well and remains excited about the project. I sent off my first draft of the proposal to award winning documentary filmmaker Michelle Mason (Breaking Ranks, The Friendship Village, http://us.vdc.imdb.com/name/nm1010529/) who has been helping me a lot with the development...
Annette, Annette...
Ladies and gentlemen please welcome aboard “The Missing Link” cast, Mrs. Annette Christanson! Annette was one of Link Gaetz’s good friends when he was playing junior hockey in Spokane, Washington for the Chiefs.

Anchorage Connection
I’m proud to announce that former University of Minnesota hockey star Steve MacSwain has agreed to be apart of the film. Steve was a former teammate of Link’s in Anchorage when they both played in the WCHL. He is a very good source as he got to know Link during the later part of his career and has a lot to say about Link. I have been talking to Steve for the past month or so and...
The Proposal
I am currently working hard on a proposal for the film. It’s coming together pretty well and is really helping me sort some stuff out. I spoke to Link the other day and we chatted for a bit about the playoffs. He’s choked about the Sharks being kicked out so early. I’ve been in talks with some great people about the project lately and feel like I’m really getting somewhere....

Back Story...
Hello everyone, my name is James de Boer and I am currently in development for a documentary film about the life and career of former hockey enforcer Link Gaetz. This guy is crazy but at the same time very misunderstood, which makes him a great subject for a documentary film! I have contacted Link and he’s really excited to do the project. I will be working with Blake McRitchie of Filmthis...
